Alexis M. Herman helps SNCCW ‘Make a Difference’

The Southern Nevada Coalition of Concerned Women is holding its 11th annual charity luncheon on May 3 at the Four Seaons Hotel. SNCCW is a group of professional African-American Women from diverse fields, nationwide, and their mission is to “make a difference.” The local organization’s community service work and contributions over the years has benefited Clark County student scholarship recipients, Sister to Sister for HIV awareness, the Rainbow Dreams Academy charter school in North Las Vegas, among others.

The SNCCW has featured a host of distinguished speakers at their events, and this year’s speaker is former U.S. Secretary of Labor Alexis M. Herman, the first African-American woman to serve in the position. She currently serves as a diversity affairs advisor and board member for major corporations, including MGM Mirage. She is chair and CEO of New Ventures LLC.
